Open Question: Why do ad agencies continue to push PRINT to auto dealers? ?

Understandably, they can't reap the commissions from online so they continue to push auto dealers into newsprint. Doesn’t anyone understand that the # of people reading a newspaper (let alone for automotive ads) is diminishing daily? I can’t understand why these agencies aren’t pushing their advertisers to “think outside the box aka traditional media”. Agencies get the dealers to spend that $1000+ for a b/w ad but can't get them to spend the money to advertise their entire inventory online for a month (which ends up being around the same cost)....
